Get the Most Out of Your Nectar Collector
One of our favorite units here at Boundless Technology is the Terp Pen, which is the successor to the CF 710. We have redesigned the Boundless CF 710 to be 1/3 the weight and size. We also removed the button to increase usability, increased battery life, and made it more affordable for the consumer!
Throughout this blog, we will be teaching you everything you need to know to clean your Terp Pen. Before we get started, it will be a good idea to grab some cleaning supplies. You’ll want isopropyl alcohol, cotton swabs, a paper towel, or dab rig! Also, have your cleaning tools that come with the unit for getting any extra reclaim off.
One of the most asked questions we get is, “Can you soak the pen or coils to clean them?” We don’t personally recommend this because of the potential for the isopropyl alcohol to leak into the hardware and damage the electrical features. So before we get into how to clean your pen, we just want to make sure that you don’t damage your unit when doing so.
Disassembling the Terp Pen
The first thing we’re going to do before we get started is to disassemble our Terp Pen.
We start by removing the cap, the coil, the mouthpiece, and the sheath from the base.
Next, we’ll go ahead and grab our paper towels with some isopropyl alcohol and begin to wipe off each piece.
The primary objective here is to be careful that we’re not leaving behind any pieces of paper towel or cotton swabs within our Terp Pen. Remember to be gentle when wiping everything to make sure that there’s no concentrate left behind.
Don’t forget to wipe the inside of the sheath if it’s been a while since you’ve cleaned your Terp Pen last. For this step, you might need to use a tool to scrape out some of the concentrate that might have been leftover from your previous sessions.
Unclog the Terp Pen Coil
The best thing about the cleaning tool that comes with the Terp Pen is how great it is at unclogging. It fits really well inside the air holes that you’ll see on your coil. This is a gentle way to clean out any concentrate that might have been lodged in your coil.
Oftentimes when we can’t get a clean hit from our Terp Pens, it’s because one of the air holes is clogged. We’re also going to want to clean the cap by rubbing it gently with alcohol.
Next, you’ll also want to clean the sheath that surrounds the body. If it’s been a while since you cleaned it, you might need a Q-Tip to get in there and get it really clean. The last thing we’re going to want to clean is going to be the mouthpiece, again gently with isopropyl and cotton swabs on the inside and outside.
Enjoy Your Clean Terp Pen
Now that there is no more residue or concentrate left behind, we’re going to begin to reassemble the Terp Pen. This doesn’t necessarily have to be done in any specific order. Just make sure you do so once everything has completely dried from the cleaning process. Now your Terp Pen is good as new and ready to use!Â
