SPANNABIS FAIR 2023

SPANNABIS FAIR 2023

Spannabis 2023 took place over the March 10 – 12 weekend in Barcelona, Spain, with Boundless being one of over 300 exhibitors to attend. To say we were excited to make an appearance at the event, which is one of the largest cannabis events in the world, would be an understatement.

The Spannabis Fair brings together accredited professionals, exhibitors, and other attendees from the cannabis industry to discuss anything and everything cannabis-related, create new contacts, and find potential clients.

The plethora of different products and companies that were in attendance this year was overwhelming. And having the opportunity to make new connections, chat with up-and-coming companies, and reconnect with old friends always makes for a productive and genuinely fun experience.

The different types of products that were showcased included footwear, clothing, food, cosmetics, building materials, and cannabis farming, just to name a few. Lectures about cannabis research, cultivation, and consumption were another highlight of the event.

The history of this iconic event dates back to the early 2000s. A group of Spanish businessmen noticed what other European hemp fairs were doing and decided to start their own.

After months of searching for a venue suitable for such an event, they discovered the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Following their first event at this location in 2001, they moved the fair to the Fira de Cornellà where it’s been held ever since.

And seeing as how Barcelona has such a rich cannabis history, it’s no surprise that it makes for the ideal location for Spain’s preeminent cannabis fair.

This year also marked the ninth annual World Cannabis Conference that they held in conjunction with Spannabis. The International Cannabis Business Conference initially teamed up with Spannabis in 2019 and has been a massive success ever since.

It’s so successful that it’s the number one cannabis B2B (business-to-business) event in Spain. This year, it even included scientific and medical discussions, in addition to having multiple political advocates of the controversial plant.

Even with the complicated cannabis laws of Spain, they were still able to pull the event off without a hitch. The conference’s primary purpose was to discuss cannabis legislation on a global scale, study the issues it faces in Spain, and better understand the therapeutic needs of the sick, who can significantly benefit from it.

Involving the attendees in the discussions with the speakers and inviting them to ask any questions they had was another high point of the conference.
