Cleaning and Maintenance Guide
In today’s blog, we will learn how to clean our CFV vaporizer. Before we start, we’re going to want to grab some supplies to help us maximize the lifespan of our vaporizer. Grab your Boundless brush tool (or some pipe cleaners), isopropyl alcohol, cotton swabs, paper towels (or a microfiber cloth), and any other tools we might need for cleaning.
Disassemble the CFV for Cleaning
The first thing we’ll need to do to clean our CFV is to disassemble it. We can do so by simply removing the mouthpiece with a twisting motion at the base and pulling it off. Just the same way we load the oven. If we haven’t cleaned our CFV screens or replaced them in some time, now is the time. It’s a good rule of thumb to replace them every few weeks.
Brushing Out the Heating Chamber
Next, we’re going to use our Boundless brush tool (or a pipe cleaner, etc.) to scrub the inside of the oven. We do this to remove any excess dry herb that might have been left behind. After that, we will want to turn the unit upside down and tap it a few times so any extra debris falls out. With the same tool, we’re going to dust off the mouthpiece just like we did with the oven chamber.
Cleaning with Isopropyl Alcohol
With the excess herb removed, it’s time to clean the chamber and mouthpiece with some isopropyl alcohol-soaked cotton swabs. We don’t have to worry about dunking/soaking our unit or mouthpiece in alcohol. Simply wipe down the oven with a cotton swab and a tiny amount of alcohol. This might take us a few cotton swabs, but slow and steady wins the race. Go over the top edge of the bowl to ensure that we’ve gotten any leftovers found in the main body of our CFV.
Next with another alcohol-dipped cotton swab, we’re going to do the same thing with the outside of the mouthpiece. The only difference here is that we’re also going to include cleaning the inside of our mouthpiece. This is to take care of any loose fibers and lint that may have been lodged in your mouthpiece, from putting it in backpacks, purses, or pockets. So we take our pipe cleaner and run it through the mouthpiece to gather anything left on the inside. Repeat with alcohol to sanitize the inside of our CFV’s mouthpiece as well.
Wiping Down the Outer Body of the CFV
We will lightly go along and clean the entire outside of our unit with a paper towel or a piece of microfiber cloth dipped in alcohol. We shouldn’t have to scrub too hard if we regularly clean our rig. Make especially sure to get our buttons and screen as we touch them every time we use the device.
Hitting a Clean CFV
After that, we have a CFV that is clean as the day we bought it. Now let’s wait for it to dry a bit, pack up our favorite herbs and celebrate a job well done.
